First thing you’ll notice when picking up the Cyber-shot DSC-H10 is the whopping 3-inch LCD screen, a major upgrade from its previous H3 model’s 2.5in. Other headline features include compact dimensions, an 8-megapixel sensor, a 10x zoom lens, Super Steady Shot image stabilisation, Dynamic Range Optimisation, Face Detection, and HDTV output.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 comes in either silver or black with a very sleek finish which can be a bit slippery for handling.

Stock comes with only 31MB of memory so out-the-box shooting is limited without any memory card, which it’ll only use the Memory Stick Pro and Memory Stick Pro Duo. Shutter speeds can range from 1/2000 to 30 seconds and the lens is a 10x optical zoom with Carl Zeiss glass. The menu is known to be a bit slow.

The H-10 is still a step away from Sony’s claimed flagship H-50. It’ll take above average quality pictures but not outstanding preformance. Great for those looking for a moderately priced megazoom. No longer available for purchase from offical store SonyStyle, but is priced at $389.95 at Amazon.

Some key features includes:

Sony 8.1 Megapixel effective CCD image sensor

Carl Zeiss 10x Zoom (38-380mm equivalent in 35mm photography)

Super SteadyShot Optical Image Stabilization fights motion blur, even during longer exposures at full zoom.

MPEG Movie: 640×480 VX Fine w/audio at 30fps (Memory Stick Duo Pro required),
640×480 VX at 16fps, approx 10 minutes.

Auto, Program AE and Manual Exposure

Live histogram display in capture and playback

9 Area Multi-point AF; Monitoring AF
